Our Mission

The Elko County Classroom Teachers Association (ECCTA) exists to represent, protect, and elevate the voices of educators across Elko County and rural Nevada. We are committed to advocating for fair working conditions, competitive compensation, and policies that support both educators and the students we serve. Through unity and collective action, ECCTA strives to ensure that every educator is respected, supported, and empowered to succeed in the classroom.
In partnership with the Nevada State Education Association and the National Education Association, ECCTA works to amplify rural perspectives at the state and national levels. We recognize that rural schools face unique challenges, and we are dedicated to making sure those challenges are heard, understood, and addressed. By aligning with NSEA and NEA, we strengthen our ability to advocate for meaningful change, protect educator rights, and secure the resources our schools need.
Above all, ECCTA is committed to building a strong, united community of educators who stand together to demand better for our profession, our students, and our future. We believe that when educators are supported, students thrive. Through collaboration, advocacy, and leadership, ECCTA will continue to fight for excellence in education and a stronger voice for rural communities.
